PLASMA LAMP “RUST” Series
PLASMA TABLE LAMP SERIES, a series of table lamps born from discarded steel tubing and profiles collected in scrapyards. The objects are then textured and perforated using a plasma cutter almost drawing on the material, as it comes to a molten state, creating a very organic pattern that contrasts with the straight smoothness of the metal profiles.
The lamps hold a sculptural aesthetic almost serving as stand alone art pieces, however once turned on these sculptural lamps shed light, shapes and colour across the room creating an inviting canopy to interact with or simply sit down and contemplate for a moment.
This project began with a fascination for light projections that occur in everyday life but that often go unnoticed by most. There is so much poetry and beauty in these “almost spirit like” occurrences that have the potential to provide us with a brief moment of contemplation and appreciation for the singular moments in our lives.
